1. I am African-American.

2. I purchased the product primarily for use on my 10-year-old daughter’s hair and scalp. She had an extremely dry scalp with flakes of dead/dry skin.

3. Since using the oil, my daughter has no more flakes. Her hair is amazingly soft and feels strong and healthy. No more “rough ends.”

4. If you use a hot comb or flat iron, the oil protects the hair well from heat damage.

5. I am absolutely pleased with this outstanding product. I love the results.

Please help: looking for Chinese and Indian herbs (& herbalist) in Singapore?
Hi, I will be traveling for three months through SE Asia, including Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia starting in mid-September. I consume many herbal dietary supplements for my Herbal Indian health, but because of possilbe complications getting them through customs (the herbs come in bulk with no original packaging per se), it looks like I might have to find these Chinese and Indian (Ayurvedic) herbs in each respective destination. So, I'm starting with Singapore. Do you know of any herbal shops which have Chinese and Indian herbs, especially encapsulated herbs? (I'm looking for largest shops, as they are more likely to have the specific herbs I need.) Also, how about a good herbalist? Any names or search tips on the internet would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

As a nurse, I often have taken notice that while my degree is in science, I feel that my profession is an artform. This movie shows the art and science that is Ayurveda.

I knew little about it going in, but feel a lot more informed and am inspired to study it further. My uncle had Acute Leukemia and was told he’d die in 6 months. He went away to an Aryuvedic doctor, and was given medications to take and a diet to follow. (I only remember carrot juice as being something he had to drink, every day.) He went into total remission for many years. When his disease came back, he sought out the same doctor, but found him dead of old age. I mention this, because one of the really sad things about this movie is shows that the most experienced trusted doctors are rather old, and they believe that the study should be from guru to student.
I did not look to the movie for proof of the effectiveness of the treatments, but really just for an examination of the medicine as it is practiced, and of the culture that has sustained it.
It gets a tad bit long at the end, but it delivers. It is an excellent introduction to this ancient system of medicine and care.
I also loved the numerous mention of the importance of being in touch with nature and her rhythms. I think that pagans in particular would LOVE this movie, as it does delve into astrological medication, as well as gem therapy.

It is really an eye opener for western medicine into prevention and time proven wisdom…we have so much to learn from Indian culture!

I also enjoyed this DVD. It is set mostly in India with some footage from Western Doctors who also practice Ayurveda to do the studies in Greece. They really check all signs in patients like Chinese medicine. Most of the DVD had subtitles to help you when the accent was thick or when they didn’t speak English to help. The shots of the landscape was beautiful & pulls you into going back to embrace it. The simplicity & less stress in the villages lifestyle was inspiring. Yes, indoor plumbing & washing of hands with natural soap is one of the great realizations of modern medicine, but not much else has help except in some ways for trauma.
In the DVD, a long time Indian Doctor even eats mercury before your eyes after using a mixture he makes to neutrilize it’s toxicity so it doens’t kill him. He says doctors ALWAYS tries their formulas on THEMSELVES, not animals or patients to make sure it works fast.
There are many testimonies from people who have been cured of cancer for 14 years & still going, 80% blindness from diabetes as been reduced to only moderate seeing dificulty like most people who just need glasses, etc. He was very charming with a great sense of humor. He says anything can be cured, he has studied western medicine to understand more, but cannot undrstand why western teach that the body cannot be healed.
Such that blindness which according to western medicine by a leak of blood in the tiny blood vessels in the retina is treated with lasers to plug to hole. But they never adddress the reason for the leak. It will just keep happening. Ayurveda & also Chinese medicine address WHY the blood vessels are weak in the first place & what foods to eat & not eat to strengthen them again.
I know a man in his 50s who has hypertention & on heart medications who still eats processed foods. He has blood spots in his feet. It is the cappilaries leaking blood in his feet from weakness. When he went on a diet, not reducing sugar or fats or meats, but just reducing artificial ingredients, the blood spots faded & disapeared. When he slipped again, they returned… so he has stayed off artificial so he never has to see them again. He also of course, report increase in energy, better sleeping, more positive outlook on life, better ability to concentrate & work, etc. All because the aritificial ingredients aren’t there to stress his body out, taking what daily energy it can to keep the body from getting cancer or tumors or dying that day.
There’s no such thing as an eye tick meaning nothing, every mole, every wrinkle, even little blood vessel you see as an imperfection is a sign your body is telling you that it is being stressed out by the foods you eat, your sleeping habits, alcohol you overconsume to be social, etc. No one listens in the west especially doctors until you are at death’s door. Drugs only treat the outside symptoms, such as sneezing from a flu instead of the toxins itself or to increase your own body’s ability to fight it off faster. Even OTC drugs for coughing has been proven in studies to not reduce the amount of coughing, parents said there was less, but was proven taht it was exactly the same. The same for antibotics for earaches, it does not speed healing at all studies have shown. What causes earaches is too rich a diet in deserts, dairy & processed foods most times.

This is a great documentary on Ayurveda, and you can tell that a lot of effort has been taken in creating this movie.

  5. Doan says:

I found this book to lack depth and explanation. It vaguely lists certain herbs and plants that are of a healing nature, but the true content I was looking for was not here. I wanted more in-depth remedies for particular ailments, where this book applies certain remedies to a very hazy and small range of problems. I was also looking for a guide to ritualistic traditions rather than unmeasurable herbal concoctions.

  6. Eisenberg says:

This book is jam packed with herbal cures and remedies, shows photos/drawings of the herbs in their natural state so you know exactly what to look for. Well written and subject divided and a must for any native American library. Quite an encyclopedia of information.

  7. Idle says:

Not only does this comprehensive book cover native american medicine, but also native american culture as a whole. It contains information on herbs and herbal remedies, native american history and folk tales, poems, songs and sayings, different tribes and customs, and the list goes on and on. The layout is very appealing to the eye, with lovely illustrations. If you have any interest in Native American culture then you will absolutely love this book.

  8. Nign says:

The Institute for American Indian Studies did not review this book. The attributed review originated with the author.

  9. Louie says:

I was a little disappointed because the 2nd ingredient listed is mineral oil. It has a smell, but they recommend you apply it @ night, the odor disipates by the morning. I a few drops in hot oil treatments, just to use because I paid for it. The rest of the oils listed are beneficial, but the mineral oil makes me a little weary.

  10. Fulford says:

This oil made my hair shinier softer healthier and it was beginning to grow. I have 3c/4a textured hair. I stopped relaxing my hair in Sept 2007. I transitioned by cutting off the relaxed ends little by little. I purchased this product in September 2009 after doing intense research on Ayurvedic type hair products. Anyway I ordered the Shikakai Oil along with some Maka and Bhrami powders. I followed the instructions of some of the other reviewers here on Amazon. The powders are quite messy but effective. When I first tried the oil it was overwhelming because I was a little heavy handed with my application. I definitely had to lighten up on my scalp. I used the oil consistently for a month. Then I slacked off b/c I got bored and I ventured into some other products. Well I def should not have done this b/c I am now noticing that my hair is dry and not easy to comb, my scalp is itchy and the luster that was beginning to develop is now fading away. I am so mad with myself. As a result of this set back I started back using the Shikakai Oil about 2 nights ago with the hopes that I can regain the results that I had once achieved. Foolishly I was tempted by the fruit of another! I tried another homemade brand of Shikakai Oil; terrible. I should have stuck with my routine…I had it down to a science. Oh and another thing, while using this oil my hair had COMPLETELY stopped shedding…COMPLETELY. Of course I messed it up and now it’s shedding all over the place. I didn’t give the oil a chance but best believe I am back on my grind oiling my hair every other night and doing my powder mixes once a week. I can tell it’s getting soft again already. The smell of this oil was strong at first but all of a sudden it’s not so bad. Maybe because I know the benefit and I’ve blocked it out who knows, who cares. Usually I am not a fan of mineral oil being in my hair products but it’s not negatively affecting my hair at all. Bottom line stick with what works for you in order to achieve results; don’t give up. This works for me and I am so excited! I will be ordering more of this oil, prob 2 or more bottles. I have to keep this in stock just in case they decide to discontinue the product one day.

  11. Edmonds says:

I cannot wait for the results, it is definitely all natural and I will definitely recommend this oil to friends and family.

  12. Diego says:

Ok but didn’t find out the fuss for these products. They are kinda messy, I brought all of the different kinds in oil and powder. I don’t see what all the fuss is about these products. Maybe I didn’t stick with them long enough because of the smell, mess and time consumption with these products. Will try to use them up as time permits to free under sink area.

Indian God Lotion Spray (Prolong Sex)Very bad product irritating and painful. Don’t recommend to anybody.

  14. Glenn says:

Well the seller sold me a defective product so I really can’t comment on the spray itself but all I can say is that the manufacturing is the lowest class manufacturing (probably go it manufactured for a penny in Chinese or Indian child labor). The seller sold it without testing the item so overall the product was pathetic.

  15. Fredrick says:

seems to be a good product but the spray bottle quit working after the first use. I requested a replacement bottle, so we’ll see what happens.

  16. Board says:

I bought this item before and it is great. I plan on buying this again in the future when I start a relationship with a girl. I am amazed by what Eddy from Orgeon wrote by saying he went a hour of sex with his girl without having an orgasm. That could cause a problem for a women in which they might ask: Should I have sex that lasts for five minutes with an orgasm (since that’s what women want in my opinion) or have sex that includes a hour of grinding without an orgasm? Indian God Lotion is good for people that want to know the Kama Sutra a little better and not having sperm pumped out seems recommended for married couples that don’t want any more children.
